Hello

Well this one is complicated and probably should be a novel. 

At 15 I joined the Army, becoming junior alpine ski champion, before moving to Germany. Then spending time  in Bosnia and Northern Island before returning to the UK to serve with 29 Commando. I then moved to Arbroath before being deployed to Afghanistan and then Iraq. I left the Army in 2005 when I decided to start work offshore. After 20 years working in Africa , Australasia and Asia returning to the UK to be with family and for my children to settle. 

During this time we have experienced many cultures and even more challenges which working together have managed to navigate , it wasn't until Covid that I found solace and the escapism that Warhammer brought me both back when I was 14 years old. Initially getting back into painting. I then found many liked minded people locally all seeking the same solace or friendship through a shared passion for gaming . This really has helped me through some difficult and turbulent times.  Much like my time serving in the military I wanted to do something to give back to the community and try to increase the visibility of tabletop gaming and along with it the stigma that it unjustly seems to carry. 

Setting up Granite Gaming Coop was a no brainer but as a way to support the local clubs and groups gain access to equipment and products otherwise just not available. With a view to bring competitions and workshops to Aberdeenshire never before  available in the area. 

My goal is to provide everyone in our community with a safe and warm place to come learn to play or paint and make new friends . this store is just an initial stepping stone on that journey.
